New Branding at TMS 2001, New Orleans, Louisiana

Visitors to TMS 2001 were among the first to visit Metallurg Aluminium's new state-of-the-art tradeshow exhibit, featuring an interactive Tech Center, multimedia displays, and much more. A new corporate video, metallurgaluminium.com Web site, and comprehensive marketing and customer reference materials were also showcased during the event for members of the aluminium industry. Dr. Paul Cooper of LSM presented the group's latest technical paper during the conference.
TMS 2001 was the metals industry showcase chosen for the North American launch of Metallurg Aluminium's new branding. "We are the first to establish a consistent brand for aluminium grain refiners, aluminium master alloys and compacted alloying products in North America," said David Whitehead, Metallurg Aluminium's Commercial Director. "Our new identity will be taken around the world soon. We operate on a global scale, and the roll-out of our group's consistent new branding will be expanded to reach our customers on every continent."

105th AFS Casting Congress
Metallurg Aluminium exhibited at the AFS Casting Conference, held at the Hyatt Regency Dallas at Reunion, April 28 to May 1, 2001. The event featured over 100 presentations addressing new technology and industry research, two days of exhibits, recognition of metalcasting industry leaders, and the election and introduction of the new AFS directors and officers.
First International Congress of the Aluminum Industry in Brazil
Aluminum South America 2000
The Brazilian Aluminum Association, ABAL, met from November 21 to 23, 2000 in São Paulo, Brazil for the First International Congress of the Aluminum Industry. The Aluminium Industry Trade Fair, held during the event, saw participation from Companhia Industrial Fluminense (CIF) with a display built around the theme of receiving customers in a typical house of Minas Gerais state where the company is located. The event was a tremendous success for CIF. Several important South American customers were in attendance, including CBA, Alcoa, Alcan, Aluar (Argentina), Alucasa (Venezuela), General Motors, Volkswagen, KS Pistoes, and others. The Congress saw the presentation of 86 papers, among them Additive Developments in the Aluminium Industry, presented by Dr. Paul S. Cooper of London & Scandinavian Metallurgical Co Limited (LSM). The Congress attracted 570 exhibitors and 3,000 visitors, and received significant international coverage.
