Hydelko AS was founded in 1990 as a joint venture between two major Norwegian companies Norsk Hydro AS and Elkem AS.
Sales were built up to the current level during the 1990s on the basis of high quality, excellent technical service and innovation in products such as TiBAlloy and Strobloy. In March 2000 the company was brought under the Metallurg Aluminium umbrella. Hydelko AS is located in a historic and picturesque setting at Rjukan, Norway, approximately two hours west of Oslo. The company employs 50 people in a modern manufacturing facility based around a Properzi continuous casting and in-line rolling mill, installed in 1996.
Hydelko AS produces a range of aluminium
grain refiners and
master alloys in rod, cut-rod, Castcut and waffle form, as well as specialty alloys for
foundry application including
TiBAlloy.
